Check-up

Jake went to see Dr. Cerrato this morning for his one year checkup. At 14 months, he weighs in at 22 lbs and is 30 3/4 inches long. Jon was not able to make the appointment today which meant that I had to hold Jake down for his shots...I HATE that! Jake did really well but did manage to give his sweet nurse a really dirty look for sticking his legs. Can't blame him for that, huh?

Vacation...

One week and five hotels later we finally made it to Destin, FL for our vacation. Jon was scheduled to work in Mobile, AL the week prior to our trip. For some strange reason, Jon and I thought it would be a good idea for Jake and I to go along since it was so close to Destin. We set out on Monday and by Tuesday evening, I was questioning our decision. There were a few "not so fabulous" experiences along the way (I won't bore you with the details) but by the weeks end it had turned out fairly well. Jon's family was vacationing in Daulphin Island so we were able to spend some time with them. That my friends, was my only saving grace! We had a nice visit and Jake had a great time playing with his cousins.

We finally arrived in Destin on Saturday to meet up with my sister, Kelly, and her family. Thankfully, our condo was great...it was very nice and had a awesome view. It rained a lot but none the less, it was relaxing! We did lots of fun things like crab hunting, sea shell searching, boogie boarding, sand castle building, sea food eating and souvenir shopping, just to name a few. (Souvenirs included things such as t-shirts, sea shells, shark tooth necklaces and post cards-you name it. Gram and Pap-paw gave those Grandbabies some shopping money-can we say spoiled)? And while it was raining, we swam in the indoor pool. Kelly and I even snuck away and let the guys have the kids while we laid on the beach for a couple of hours...alone!:) Jon and Terry attempted deep sea fishing, however, the seas were too rough. Maybe next time! Jake loved the beach and had a blast playing with Blake and Abbie...he thinks they are super cool! All in all, it was a great vacation and we are glad to be home safely! Woo Pig Sooie...

Jon and I bought Jake this Razorback jersey and hat a few weeks back. Jon insisted on the hat, however, Jake is not nearly as thrilled about it! I don't know about everyone else but he is ready to call those HOGS!!
