Happy Halloween!

We have spent the week with the Chaloupka's(my sister)and have been busy with all things Fall...

First, we headed to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin.

Jake and Daddy did a great job carving...


We confiscated some yummy treats...

And just so happened to be the cutest spider around!

St. Louis...

Jake and I met Jon in St. Louis this past week for a little time together. We took Jake to the zoo, which was a first! He loved the train and the carousel and thought the sea otters were hilarious! I was very impressed with the St. Louis zoo...but when all you know is the Little Rock zoo, I guess that is not hard to do! (For anyone who has not discovered it for themselves, the LR zoo is terrible). We also went to Busch Stadium to see where the Cardinals play (we had to replace the Yankee's shirt-long story), the Arch and of course hit up the outlets. We had a great time and the weather was absolutely perfect!! I forgot my camera so we had to buy a disposable. When I get those developed, I will post some pictures of our weekend.

Pray for Paw-Paw!

Please say a prayer for Jon's Dad (Paw-Paw) this morning. He is scheduled for hip replacement surgery in a couple of hours. Just pray that everything goes well and he has a speedy recovery so he can move on and enjoy his new hip! :)

Also pray for Jon's sister, Angie, and her family. Their house was heavily damaged in the storm this weekend when a tree fell on the house over Abigail and Audrey's bedroom. The girls were not in their beds at the time and we are SOO thankful that God was watching over them and everyone is okay! Their is a lot of repair to be done and ,of course, that is stressful so just remember them as they work through all of that! Yardwork...

Jake's new favorite thing! We will see how he feels about it when he's 14, but for now he LOVES to sit on Jon's hip while he mows the grass. As if it's not hard enough, right? What a good Daddy! :)

Friends...

On Friday we had a long overdue visit with our friends Corey and Heather Ramsay. Corey and Jon grew up together and were roommates throughout college. They became parents to a super cute, red-headed little boy, Ethan, in November. Jon had never met Ethan and Jake and I have not seen him since he was born so he had definitely changed. Jake and Ethan looked so cute sitting at the end of the table in their little highchairs. We had a good visit but decided that with two active little boys who don't like to sit still for more than thirty seconds, all future visiting will be done "in house." :)

Don't worry, we're still alive...

Sorry it has been so long! We have been super busy just coming and going. A couple of weeks back, I left Jake with his Gram and Pap-paw and flew to Oklahoma City to meet up with Jon. He so willingly took me to the American Idol concert and we had sooo much fun! For those of you that have been waiting on those pictures, I will post a few of the favorites...I think Jon took about 200 (that is how he entertained himself). ;)

Last week we made the trip to Dallas with Jon so we could spend some time with him as well as my sister and her family. Jake was cutting teeth so he was a bit of a nightmare for a few days but we had a great time! He now has another tooth for a grand total of 3 but is working on a couple more. He may have them all before Kindergarten. Jake seems to be changing so quickly and is trying so hard to talk. He loves to play outside or as he says, "side." This is such a fun age!!
