While Mom's away the Boys will Play...

While Kristin was out running some errands, and like some of you know Jake is not the best to run errands with, we stayed at home and decided to play outside. I can't decide whether we have a future Razorback or Movie Star. You decide...

Gotta Love the sunglasses!

The Zoo...

It has been a couple of weeks now, but Jake and I went to the Zoo with the Mommy and Me group from church. The weather was prefect and we got to spend the day with Katy and Owen, which always makes for a great time!

Watching the flamingos.

Jake and Owen thought this elephant was pretty interesting.

The train ride was fun, too!

The Wonder Place

We went to the Wonder Place today along with Katy and Owen. It is such a fun place, especially on a rainy day like today!

Lil Fan...

I have been a long time American Idol fan and this year, Jake has joined me. Lil Rounds tends to really get him movin'! How about that rhythm?

March Madness...

I am fighting a lack of motivation when it comes to blogging...but here it goes! We have been staying busy and time seems to be flying by. I can't believe it is April! March was pretty eventful for the most part. My Dad (Pap-paw) turned the BIG 6-0 so we celebrated with a surprise party. It turned out great and he was actually surprised! Here he is with five of his favorite kiddos...all of his grandkids!

And here is the gang...minus a few!

The following week, Jake and I hit the road (or the air, whatever) headed east. Jon was working in the Norfolk, VA area and it just so happened that my good friend Melissa and her kids are there staying with her parents while here husband, Mac, is serving in Iraq. We were able to spend most of the week with them and had such a great time. We visited Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg and even hit up the outlet mall.

Jon, Jake and I took a little road trip to Washington D.C over the weekend. It had been a really long time since I had been so I wanted to visit now that I appreciate those things a little more. Jake does NOT like to sit in a stroller so we were a litte unsure about all the site seeing until we decided to get a backpack carrier for him to ride in. He LOVED it. Poor Jon carried that child for a good six hours, up and down hills, without a single complaint. What a good daddy! We had a great time and were able to see all of the major memorials along the mall, the Capitol, The White House and the Arlington National Cemetary. Enjoy the slideshow!

Since we have been home, we've enjoyed a few days of beautiful spring weather. Jake would stay outside all day long so we got him a sand/water table to keep him busy. He is having a great time with that! He is growing like a weed and changing so fast. I think it is time for my next post to be about all things Jake...words, likes, dislikes, etc. I have not done that in awhile, or maybe ever for that matter. Stay tuned.

For all you little girl moms...

Just wanted to make a quick post in case any of you might be interested...My sister-in-law, Amy, has started a little business making super cute pillow case dresses and tops (among other things) at very reasonable prices. I will add pictures of a couple of my FAVORITES!! If you are interested, let me know and I will get you her contact information. Or you can visit her myspace page here. Maybe I will try to convince her to join us in the world of facebook! ;)

I LOVE this one!

As far as what has been going on at the Steelmans house...I will be back later tonight to fill you in. :) Sorry it has been so long!

Heifer Ranch...

Katy and I loaded Jake and Owen in the car this morning and headed to Perryville for a visit to the Heifer Project Ranch. It was such a neat place and the rain held off just long enough. We got the grand tour of all the animals, walked through the Global Village and enjoyed a picnic lunch. Jake and Owen both had a good time. Jake was pretty spooked early on by a couple of turkeys on the loose. They let out a loud gobble that he did not appreciate and then the pigs charged the fence to finish him off. After that, he made sure there was plenty of distance between him and anything furry! Owen on the other hand, I am pretty sure he would have attempted to pick up a chicken had his mom let him get close enough! :) He was way more brave than Jake. But, we had a great time and came home with a renewed appreciation for the things that we have...such a great mission they have going!
